Downtown Business District
The Downtown Business District of
Vancouver is bounded by False Creek to the South, English Bay to the
South-West, Stanley park to the West, Burrard Inlet to the North and the
Downtown East Side and Strathcona neighbourhoods to the East. We have
included all of the areas of the Downtown peninsula which including all of the
following very popular neighbourhoods: The West
End, Yaletown, Coal
Harbour, Chinatown, and Gastown. False
Creek, to the South, has quickly become the "heart of Vancouver." The
Downtown peninsula is also circumnavigated by the Sea Wall which allows public access to the
waterfront in almost all areas. The actual Downtown Business District is
approximately 20x20 square blocks. Compared to many other large North American
cities our Business District is very small.
